Create an Account and Open the Dashboard
Open the account creation page in the VPNShort user dashboard and enter a username and password as prompted. No email address is required—you only need a username and password. Choose a username you can recognize and set a unique password for this account. Don't reuse a password from another important service. Check your entries before submitting, especially the password's capitalization and your keyboard input mode.
When you're done, follow the prompts to open the user dashboard. If you're taken to a login page, sign in with the username and password you just saved. Use the dashboard to choose a plan, check your account status, get your subscription, and download a client. This page is a setup guide, not an account management page. When bookmarking the dashboard, make sure the address uses the official site domain. Avoid signing in through links from unknown sources.
Once you're in, take a moment to locate the account overview, client downloads, plans, and support tickets. If you don't have an active subscription yet, there's no need to keep trying to connect in the client—choose a plan first. If you already have an account, sign in to it instead of creating another one, so your orders and subscriptions stay together. If you have trouble accessing your account, see the FAQs.
Start Your Free TrialChoose a Plan and Confirm Your Order
Open the plans section in the user dashboard and compare monthly subscriptions with data packages. Monthly subscriptions are suited to regular use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on the date you activate the plan, not on the first day of each calendar month. Choose based on how you use the service: streaming video, transferring large files, and everyday browsing can require very different amounts of data.
If you prefer data that doesn't expire, consider a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Each lasts until the data is used and never expires. Monthly subscriptions and data packages have different billing terms, so check the plan name, price, and data allowance before placing your order. Don't rely on a button's position to tell you which plan you've selected. Compare the full details on the plans page.
After confirming your order, choose Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT as shown on the checkout page. Once payment is complete, return to the user dashboard and check the order status and plan details in your account overview. If the status hasn't updated yet, check the original order before trying to submit another one. If the payment result and order status don't match, describe the issue in a dashboard support ticket and keep your order details for reference.
VPNShort supports unlimited simultaneous devices and a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you upgrade your plan, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Review the confirmation details in the dashboard before proceeding. Once your plan is active, open the account overview to get your subscription. The next step—importing it into a client—depends on an active subscription being shown there.
Choose This PlanGet Your Subscription Link
Open the account overview in the user dashboard and check your plan and available data first. Then find the subscription section. The subscription link gives your client the server configurations available to your account. It's not a regular webpage URL or an installer. Whether your browser can display its contents doesn't tell you if the subscription is valid.
If the dashboard offers a one-click import option for your client, follow the prompts to open the installed app. If you haven't installed a client yet, download and install one first, then return to import your subscription. To import manually, use the copy option in the dashboard and paste the entire subscription link into the client's subscription URL field. Don't paste it into a configuration name, search box, or browser bookmark.
After copying the link, check that it's complete and doesn't include extra text, spaces, or line breaks. If you need to choose a client format, follow the instructions for that client in the download section. Don't edit the URL parameters. After importing, the client usually needs to fetch or update the subscription. Seeing a configuration name doesn't mean the server details have loaded—check that the server list contains options you can select.
Your subscription link is an account credential. Don't post it in public forums, screenshots, or shared documents, or enter it into an unfamiliar online conversion tool. When contacting support about an import issue, share the error message and a redacted screenshot instead of the full link. If you think the link may have been exposed, check whether the dashboard offers a reset option. See the guide to getting, updating, and securing your subscription link for more information.
Open the Account OverviewImport Your Subscription by Platform
Open the client downloads section in the user dashboard and choose the VPNShort client for your device's operating system. Follow the installation instructions for that platform. The Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux clients are available after you sign in; the iOS download option requires an active plan. Don't download installers with matching names from unfamiliar search results or use installation steps for another platform instead of the dashboard instructions.
The sections below cover common import steps for desktop and mobile platforms. Menu names may vary, but the process is the same: add a remote subscription, fetch its configuration, select that configuration, and choose a server to connect. VPNShort supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux, with unlimited simultaneous devices. Each device needs its own client setup.
Windows: Import a Remote Configuration
Download the Windows VPNShort client from the dashboard and follow the prompts to install and open it. Desktop clients usually list remote subscriptions under “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or “Profiles.” Find the add option and choose import from a URL or link. Paste the subscription address you copied from the account overview. You can enter a recognizable local name in the name field, but it doesn't replace the subscription address.
Save the subscription, then download or update it and wait for the configuration to load. Set the imported configuration as the active one, then open the server list and check that server names appear. If the list is empty, return to the configuration page and check for an error message. Don't change your system network settings right away. If you need to enable a system proxy or another connection mode, follow the client's instructions. For initial setup, use the default mode recommended in the dashboard.
macOS: Configuration and Network Permissions
Choose the macOS VPNShort client in the dashboard and follow the instructions for your version of macOS to install and launch it. Open configuration or subscription management and add your subscription using an option such as “Import from URL.” If the dashboard offers one-click import, your browser may ask whether to open the client. Confirm that it's the right app before continuing. After import, update the subscription and select the configuration.
When you connect for the first time, macOS may ask you to approve a network configuration or network extension. Read the system prompt, confirm that the request is from the client you just installed, and follow the instructions to approve it. If macOS says you still need to confirm in Settings, do that, then return to the client and reconnect. For more on permissions and Apple services, see the guide to Mac clients and system permissions. You don't need to adjust advanced options during your first import.
Android: Update Your Subscription and Approve the Connection
Sign in to the dashboard to get the Android VPNShort client. Install it according to the instructions, then open the app. Go to the subscription or configuration page, choose the option to add a remote configuration, and paste the link into the address field. Some clients fetch the configuration as soon as you save it; others require you to tap Update. Check that the server list has loaded rather than relying on the save confirmation alone.
Select the active configuration and a server, then connect. Android may show a system VPN connection request. Confirm that the request comes from the right app, allow it, and return to the client to check the connection status. For your first test, keep the app in the foreground. If it works in the foreground but disconnects in the background, check whether your device restricts background activity for the app. Settings vary by device; see the troubleshooting guide for help. There's no need to change every battery-saving setting in advance.
iOS: Dashboard Access and Add a Configuration
First, confirm that your plan is active in the dashboard. Open the iOS client download option and follow the dashboard instructions to the App Store. After installing the app, return to the dashboard and use the import option for your subscription. If the system asks whether to open the client, confirm the app name, then check that the new configuration appears in the app. For manual import, use the subscription address and format specified in the dashboard instructions.
If your client offers “Add Subscription” or “Import from URL,” paste the complete address, fetch the configuration, and choose a server. The first time you connect, iOS will ask to add a VPN configuration. Read the prompt and approve the request, then return to the client to connect. If no servers appear, check whether the subscription was fetched successfully. A system VPN configuration by itself doesn't confirm that the subscription loaded.
Get the ClientConnect to a Server and Verify Your Connection
Return to the server list in the client, choose a server, and connect. Keep the configuration simple during your first test. Don't add another proxy app or repeatedly change routing rules. If you already use another network tool on the device, check whether it's handling the same traffic so you don't mistake interference for a failed subscription.
Once the client shows that you're connected, open the service you need in a browser and check that you can reach the page content—not just see its title. Then check that the websites you normally use still load properly. A system status icon only shows that the connection configuration is active; it doesn't prove that every app is using the selected server as expected. The actual result when accessing your target website is a more useful test.
If only one app won't open a website, first try accessing the same service in a browser, then check whether the client's rules route that app through the proxy. If no websites load, disconnect the client and check whether your regular connection works. Then reconnect and try another server for comparison. Change one setting at a time and note the result, so you can identify the cause without changing the subscription, server, and system settings all at once.
If your connection works but a service still reports a regional or account restriction, that doesn't mean the client import failed. Services may make decisions based on account region, payment details, and their own terms. A network route can't replace the service's account requirements. Try to use the same exit location throughout your session. If you run into an issue, save the error message before considering another server, and avoid switching regions repeatedly while signing in or using the service.
Once everything works, store your account details securely. If server information changes later, update the subscription in your client. For failed updates, frequent disconnections, drops in the background, or DNS issues, consult the troubleshooting guide for your specific symptoms. For general account and billing questions, start with the FAQs. If you need help from a support agent, open a support ticket in the dashboard and include your device's operating system, client name, when the issue occurred, what you were doing, and a redacted screenshot of the error. Don't share your password or full subscription link.
